Home-Based Parenting Programs

Center for Children and Families, Inc. - Bringing Up Babies

Bringing Up Babies is a free, voluntary program offered to pregnant and parenting individuals, including teen parents, to create healthy and stimulating home environments for their children.

Children First, Oklahoma’s Nurse-Family Partnership

Provides no cost personal nurse visits to women during their pregnancy and for two years after delivery. The public health nurse provides brief health screenings for mothers and babies; answers questions about pregnancy, parenting and child developement and connects the family to resources including health, education, employment, housing and legal assistance. Our services are individually tailored to meet the unique needs of our participants.

Child Guidance Program

Child Guidance staff provides fee-based services that fall inot four general categories: Services to Individual Children and Families, Educational Services to the General Population, Services to professionals, and Community Development.

The program has three professional components designed to interface to provide a continuum of services to build healthy family relationships and enhance child development. These include Behavioral Health Services, Childhood Development and Parent Education Service, and Speech Language Services.

SoonerStart Early Intervention

Services include evaluation services, case management, family training, counseling, and home visits, certain health services, nursing & nutrition services, occupational, physical, and speech- language therapy, and special instruction. Can be provided in home or at daycare.

The Share Center is a free grocery store (food pantry) and resource center for individuals and families living in Norman, Noble, Lexington, or McClain County.

Enrollment Criteria: Anyone can participate and receive donated food, but they must be TEFAP eligible to receive USDA food. Automatic eligibility for anyone receiving SNAP, FDPIR, WIC, CSFP, or CAC. Guests must show photo ID and current proof of residency each visit. Proof of residency/address must be dated within the last 60 days and may include any utility bill, lease agreement, pay stub, Social Security letter, hospital bill, etc. Online bills will also be accepted via smartphone.

WIC PLUS+

WIC PLUS+ is a program for families that combines WIC visits with the support of Child Development Specialist and the Parent Line. You will have the chance to ask questions about your child's development, learn about their skills and abilities, understand social emotional development and learn how to promote healthy behaviors that strengthen family relationships.
