Cherokee PARENTS

In home parent support program using the SafeCare curriculum. This curriculum is desgined to empower parents. Learning modules are focused on parent-child interactions, home safety, and health. Familes earn incentives upon completion of each module

Children First, Oklahoma’s Nurse-Family Partnership

Voluntary family support program that offers home visitation services to mothers expecting their first child. A public health nurse works with mother to increase her chances of delivering a healthy baby, as well as work on child safety and development.

Enrollment Criteria: The new mother must be less than 29 weeks pregnant, be expecting her first child and meet the same income eligibility criteria as WIC and/or Medicaid.

Parents as Teachers: Tahlequah Public Schools

Get connected with a family support program staffed by a specially trained professional who teach parenting skills and child developments, as well as ways to reduce stress and nurture your child. We can connect you to other resources in your community in order to meet your family's needs.

Cherokee Nation Head Start/Early Head Start

Children in Head Start/Early Head Start take part in a variety of activities that help them grow mentally, socially, physically, and emotionally. The children get free health care, including medical and dental exams and immunizations, as well as healthy meals and snacks. They offer a wide range of educational & social services.

SoonerStart Early Intervention

Services include evaluation services, case management, family training, counseling, and home visits, certain health services, nursing & nutrition services, occupational, physical, and speech- language therapy, and special instruction. Can be provided in home or at daycare.
