Children First (C1) is a statewide parenting program offered through local health departments. The no-cost services are delivered by a public health nurse in the participant’s home. Services include brief health assessments, child growth and development evaluations, nutrition education, parenting and relationship information and links to other community resources.

Eligibility: Low income pregnant women who are expecting to parent for the first time and enroll prior to the 29th week of pregnancy. The family’s income must be at or below 185% of the federal poverty level. Services continue until the child is two years of age.
